Why write about the autism epidemic?
Friday, September 25, 2009 at 2:36PM - To examine all of the arguments of those who say there is no epidemic
- To explore the frontline evidence that autism is a biomedical condition that is treatable
- And, above all to get to the bottom of the causation with a view toward halting the epidemic
Click to view the catalog pageIn the course of our research it became clear that autism was not as unique as some had supposed. Evidently, toxins, disease agents, and the interactions among them have the power to cause a lot of neurological problems with autism as one of the early warnings of epidemic proportions. Dr. Andrew J. Wakefield says in the Foreword that the book is “one which should be required reading by the Health Agencies” (p. xii).
Among the research findings, discussed in the book, is the fact that even one exposure to a disease agent can be harmful and that multiple exposures are increasingly likely to do harm---even producing life-long disabilities, immune suppression, seizures, and even sudden “unexpected” death. The smaller and less mature the person, the more likely and more severe is the potential injury. For instance, a study of the “Vaccine Safety Datalink” showed that the risk of a seizure within a 30-day window after vaccination was doubled when DTP was combined with MMR on the same day, and when the DTP shot followed MMR by 8 to 14 days the likelihood of a seizure within the same 30-day window was more than tripled (Chen, et al., 1997). For a penetrating, up-to-date, sobering, and meticulous examination of the historical and current research questions concerning the autism epidemic see the book, Autism: The Diagnosis, Treatment, & Etiology of the Undeniable Epidemic.
